What it is 

• Yamato Nishiki is a metallic koi variety, basically a metallic version of Taishō Sanke 

• A white (platinum)

• baseRed (beni) markings

• Black (sumi) accents

•  Shiny, metallic sheen 

When you add leather skin, it means the koi has very few or no scales.  

What “leather skin” means 

• Leather koi (also called Doitsu leather) have:

  • Smooth, scaleless skin

  • Sometimes just a few scales near the dorsal fin or none at all

• This makes the colors and metallic shine look extra clean and glossy, almost like polished metal.

• Smooth, shiny skin with no visible scale pattern

• Bright reflective white

• Red and black markings that look sharper than on fully scaled koi
