All koi are carefully conditioned before sale to ensure low stress and easy adjustment to their new pond. Fish are shipped using hospital-grade purified oxygen and packed in insulated boxes to keep them safe and comfortable during transport.
Easy Acclimation
Clear acclimation instructions are included on the fish bag. The process is simple and takes 5–10 minutes.
Our Koi Care Process
We take all koi photos ourselves. After photos, koi are moved to large, oxygen-rich ponds before being listed for sale. New koi are added to the website every week.
Shipping Information
We do not ship live fish during short weeks. Public holidays are non-shipping weeks. Fish are shipped every Monday, with delivery expected Tuesday or Wednesday.
The order cut-off is Saturday at 5:00 pm. Orders placed after 5:00 pm Saturday will ship the following fortnight. If you would like your fish shipped on a different Monday, please write this in the checkout comments and we will confirm with you.
Fish Details & Measurements
All information such as size, sex, and type is approximate. Size is measured from nose to tail in the water using a ruler placed along the pond, as fish do not like to be held still. Sex is only listed for larger koi that are not showing stress, as young koi are difficult to sex accurately. Every purchase is backed by a live-arrival guarantee and over 40 years of trusted experience.
Type of Koi Fish
All koi sold by Windsor Fish Hatchery are bred on-site. We do not buy or resell koi. We do not provide price estimates for private or commercial koi; only koi we produce are priced. Our breeding records allow us to tell you with 100% accuracy what type of koi you are purchasing.
Selective Breeding & Quality
Our koi are selectively bred to produce specific, high-quality types. Each spawning produces koi of different grades and sometimes different types. We conduct approximately six selective spawns per year. Higher-grade koi cost more due to quality, colour, and development.
